What is this pink flower?

I would like to know what is this flower. It's been growing in our house for over twenty years. I just have to separate its roots which are bulbs, like onions, and put them into new pots or flower beds and they keep growing. The leaves which are like grass blades keep growing even if not watered a whole lot but the flowers only grow if they are generously watered, what could they be? Does anyone know the name of these flowers?

Hope the picture in my Avatar helps. They are pink in colour and have 6 petals each.

Sounds like you have rain lilies, or zephranthes. Go to www.plantsdelight.com and look at their online catalog. They have many in several colors.
Reply:The comunity may have chosen Isadora's answer, but I found pendelli's answer the best because the page she directed me to has just the same pink flowers that I asked about and they are called 'kaffir lillies'. So in my opinion she has the best answer. Report It

Reply:Would agree with sptfyr, looks like a lily to me too!

Reply:purple lily???
Reply:It's very difficult to tell from such a small picture, but try looking up schizostylis coccinia. That's what it looks like to me.
Reply:Definitely looks like a day lily - strappy leaves and the way the flower is laid out all support that theory.

Look up Hemerocallis online %26amp; see if you can see any that look like that (try some of the bulb %26amp; seed suppliers)
Reply:Crocus?
Reply:Looks kinda like a lily, but the pic is so small that I can't make out any features. Your description also leads me to say Lily.

Day lily perhaps? Can you supply the site to where your avatar is posted so we could get a closer look?
Reply:They look like the weeks that grown in the cracks in my drive...genealogy mormon
