Flower that means death?

In France, people bring some kind of flower that means that someone has died. Is it white lilies that represent that, or some other kind of flower?

Actually, it's lilies in general. Specifically calla lilies. They have no clear cut color, but white calla lilies are the most commonly used that means death. The plant is generally poisonos when fresh due to its high oxalic acid content, but when it dies and goes under some processes, it is generally safe.
Reply:Lilies in general, but especially calla lilies, have been a symbol of death for a lot of people--don't know if that's what you mean.
