Flower Girl Dress! Need ya'll opinion!?

I'm getting married in September. I had originly found a flower girl dress that look very simular to mine. Like a mini version. My dress has a white sash thing around the waist and I was going to make hers the color of the bridesmaids dresses. It was going to be very cute. Well, yesterday I was grocery shopping and I was in Sam's Club. They have all there Easter clothing out and I was looking. I found a beautiful little white dress. It doesn't match mine like the other one did but I really like it. I guess my real question is..... Do ya'll think that a white Easter dress will look ok as my flower girls dress in a September wedding?
Flower Girl Dress! Need ya'll opinion!?
My daughter has had the pleasure of being a flower girl for 6 weddings thus far. In all of the weddings-except 1-she was wearing a white dress. Here's what most of the girls did that had her as their flower girl: They bought Easter dresses that were white-on sale. Then went to a craft store and bought tiny sew-on flowers in their colors and little sew on colored bows. They sent me home with the dress and the colored accents and I sat down and hand sewed them on with a couple of quick stitches. It took NO time to add them to the dress and nobody knew that they were originally all-white Easter dresses! They looked custom made for the wedding. They all turned out fantastic! Two of the weddings WERE in September.


So, yes, it will look wonderful! Even if you didn't choose to add color to it. Go for it!

Reply:mygirldress.com. The dresses that I bought were beautiful. Their prices were much more reasonable than the flower girl dresses at the bridal store. A beautiful dress for half the price. They also packed the dresses very well, flat and in a box, not stuffed in a bag. Report It

Reply:Sure, I dont think anyone will even notice that its an easter dress, and shes probably only going to wear a flower girl dress ONE time, whereas she can wear an easter dress more often. Congrats.
Reply:Absolutely. who says a dress has to come from a bridal shop or look like yours. It would be wonderful. just remember your wedding is a long way off, so you want to make sure who ever you are buying the dress for will be able to where in sept. otherwise you will be back to sqaure one unless you can have it altered.
Reply:The Easter dresses that they have been coming out with the last few years have been very beautiful. I say if it is a dress that will fit in with your wedding, go for it. in fact i was looking at easter dresses today as well, My wedding isn't until june of next year but that will give another easter to get the dresses! they're perfect - white with accents of summery colors! plus they ahve all those little cute headbands and hats that would look nice in the wedding.


btw the easter dresses will probably be cheaper than the flower girl dresses just because everything that's associated to a wedding atomatically gets added price. (ever looks at regular candles vs. 'wedding' candles - price is rediculous)


anyways! go ahead find that easter dress - people probably won't tell the difference! also the girl can wear it again next year for well... easter!
Reply:As A Mother of a four year old I'm going to tell you buy the one from Sam's club. Little girls look like princesses but, they don't act like them. My daughter was a flowergirl for my wedding and I got her dress off of eBay (the auction price was1.11 and under 50 for shipping my dress came from the same place.) On my wedding night she got into the chocolate on the tables and it got all over her dress. I managed to get it out but, where is she going to wear it again. It is now a play dress and sometime pyjamas. Honestly a little girl could pull off a pillow case and still be cute. Get her a dress she can have fun in!


I went to a wedding show before my wedding and one of those super cute flower girl dresses was falling apart before the end of the fashion show(probably on the girl 10 minutes max) get something more practical real flower girl dresses can be very heavy for a little girl!
Reply:My daughters are going to be my flower girls. I bought my dress at davids bridal. (style # 9E8475) They have matching flower girl dresses (style # H8475) I even had them bought for my daughters. BUT then we decided that we only wanted me in all of the frilled up detail, so now we are going with a different dress (style # H8052) in pearl pink which is one of my colors.





MEANING.....This is your day, your time to shine!! Which dress will look better on the girl you have choosen? That also is a way to think. I think my new choice in dresses for my girls will better suit their body frame.





Well, anyways, regardless which one you choose, I'm sure everyone involved will look STUNNING!!!!

Reply:sounds just fine- and you can even dress it up by putting a colored sash on her. Put the saved money into something else!
Reply:it would be great, go for the cheaper one. weddings cost enough. depending on how old your flower girl is, she may grow quite a bit before Sept. Buy a size up. It is much easier to make a big dress smaller than a sall dress bigger. if you do end up needing a seamstress to adjust it, go to your local fabric store and ask for any local seamstresses. Almost anyone who can sew could adjust the dress for a kid.
Reply:I think that would be fine. Just be sure to keep it covered up good to make sure no dirt or dust settles on it in the coming months.
