Is one flower for each bridesmaid tacky?

I'm on a really tight budget for flowers so i can either make each of my bridesmaid a wedding bouquet of one or two wal-mart 94cents bouquets or i can have each bridesmaid carry a single flower with a ribben tied around it in a bow,, 'i was thinking i could have my maid and maitron of honors be two flowers tied together so their different' will this work at all?
Is one flower for each bridesmaid tacky?
Oh man I wish I could find that picture...I googled a few months back and saw a wedding picture the bride had like 6 roses, the maid of honor had 3 I think and the bridesmaids each had 1 single white rose and it looks gorgeous!
Reply:One flower can be absolutely beautiful with a complimentary colored ribbon tied around the stem.

Or you can watch Michaels for their 50% off silk flower sale and make bouquets yourself.

The other option is to have them carry a fan that matches your wedding colors:

Reply:As long as you use a large flower it's okay. I have always preferred ONE gorgeous flower over a bunch of the typical. Calla Lilies, Oriental Lilies, a spray of Orchids, etc. If you put a bow on any fabulous flower, I would rather have that than a bouquet of roses. I think it looks really classy %26amp; simple, clean, beautiful, not cluttered.
Reply:I have seen many weddings where they maids (or even thr bride) carries a single flower or only a few flowers. I dont think its tacky at all. It actually looks increfibly elegant!! Im not sure what your theme or colors are but calla lillies look very beautiful as well asa single rose. If you have them carry one flower, make sure its a large enough flower to be seen. this page has a few pics of minimalist flower bouquets. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

also, if you have a hobby lobby near you, they always have 1/2 off sales on thier flowers. they are very realistic looking too, check them out! Good luck and congrats!!
Reply:Just remember, its your day so its up to you to do whatever you want!

One flower would be fine. A pretty color that would compliment thier dresses. Plus its a lot less to carry then some bouquet that will die in a day or two.

Another option that maybe be budget friendly, silk flower. you can get some great real looking flowers and make small bouquets cheaper. My friend did that for her wedding, even for her own bouquet. then she was able to keep it!

Good luck on your big day!
Reply:A single flower with a ribbon isn't tacky...

Think about adding a single sprig of Baby's Breath to fill it out slightly it will only add a dollar or 2 to the total cost of 6-7 bouquets... Talk to your local florist they may be willing to donate the baby's breath if you buy the flowers from them....
Reply:Its hard to pull off just one flower. Giant calla lillies could work, but theyll cost you more than 2 bucks each. If you do the one big flower though, skip the ribbon -- it doesnt look good.

I think you should do bouquets. And have them all be the same. MOH doesnt need a different one.
Reply:My sister gave each of her girls a single silk rose. They had some greens around them and the stems were wrapped in sheer ribbon that matched her accent colors. There was enough ribbon to hang down and curl. It was very pretty and elegant.
Reply:rather use the walmart flowers. they are still flowers and some are very pretty. and cost less than going to the flower shop. One flower wont look tacky but it may look lost. unless its a very large flower, like a sunflower
Reply:For my cousin's wedding we each carried a single calla lily wrapped with ribbon that matched our dresses and it was very elegant.
Reply:needs to be a long stem rose with a tulle like ribbon tied on it. i would not have any other type of flower then a rose or it wont look right.
Reply:I really like the idea of a single flower for your bridesmaids to carry. It will not look tacky at all.
Reply:my friend has a single flower for her maids a lily with a ribbon curled at the bottom, very nice!
Reply:yes a single flower will work as long as its something nice like a rose
Reply:One nice flower with a ribbon on the stem. Very nice!nanny
