Can You point me in the right direction of identifying this flower? The flower is a cluster of smaller flowers (pink)..... making overall roundish shape. The indivuial flower has pedals on the top and wiskers on the bottom. There are green pods that resemble pea pods The larger leaves and baby leaves are a similar shape as marijuana only wider.
Flower Identification?
Botanically your name is apt!!
Cleome has been suggested but, without a better BOTANICAL description or picture any identification is suspect at best. No offense to those that have attempted but, as a Horticulturist your description is incomplete.
Reply:YES! I have the in my front yard. They are called cleomes. The stalks are sticky, and smell alittle like "skunk". But they are b-e-a-u-tiful! Eventually tose pods will dry and break open with MANY round seeds. They will reseed for years. If you dont want that, get rid of the NOW.
By the way, dont smoke it.
Reply:Others have mentioned cleome. If it really smells "skunky" then that is what it is. Sometimes cleomes reseed themselves. They are pretty but really stink -- at least when you get right up to them. If there is not terrible smell to the flower, then it must be something else.
Reply:Yes, Cleomes. They Come In White, Pink and Purple...Save green pods for seeds!
