Flower girl and flowers?

It is wrong not to have the flowergirl throw flower petals? We are geting married in a pavlion the reseption is in the same plce. I don't antone to have to wo9rry about sliping on them or cleaning them up. I am thinking od jusat having her carry the basket with flowers. not throwing the petals. Is this ok?
Flower girl and flowers?
I've seen dozens of weddings where the flower girl doesn't drop petals. In my opinion there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. It's actaully just as beautiful, if not more, that she regally carry her basket or bouquet of flowers down the aisle. This may make her feel more grown up too...

Have a great wedding!
Reply:At my wedding I had the flower girl carry a small white bible with a spray of flowers matching my bouquet attached to it, it looked lovely and my flower girl had something to keep.
Reply:Yes this will be okay, I have been to lots of weddings where the flower girl does throw flowers and just carries them in a basket
Reply:That is absolutely fine! Best wishes!
Reply:It's totally fine to have her carry a basket of flowers; that's actually the best thing to do!
Reply:That is fine. Many places are asking their brides not to have flower girls throw petals. You can have them carry poms instead, or just place flowers in their basket.

Check out www.flower-fairy.com for a couple of ideas.
Reply:My flower girl carried a basket and did not drop any petals, so in answer to your question no she does not need to drop any petals.

Good luck!
Reply:yes that is just fine its your wedding do what you feel is right I had an outside wedding and didnt even have a flowers girl. or you can always have her twirl a ribbon lol. jk just do what you think looks and feels right CONGRATS and all the best luck down the long loving roads ahead.
Reply:There is nothing wrong with not throwing the petals at all. I don't think its done much nowadays with the churches etc discouraging the mess.

We had our flower girl carrying a basket of the bio-degradable confetti that she passed out to guests after the service.

Our slightly older bridesmaid was given a bouquet made from silk flowers to look identical to the older bridesmaid bouquets. So this could be an option too; you don't have to worry about the flowers getting ruined.

At the end of the day its your wedding, and your choice.

Congratulations and I hope all goes well for you.
Reply:to me it is ..it's your wedding...so i think u should have it the way u want it..talk it over with your partner and see if he's ok with it,which i think he wouldn't mind ...and do it like u want it
Reply:That's perfectly fine. It's also easier for a very small child to handle as a job.

Thank you for not littering!
Reply:my flower girl just had a bouquet the same as mine only smaller. no throwing involved.
Reply:Most flower girls don't actually throw them. Churches discourage it since they make a mess and then you have to clean them up later. Usually they carry a little bouquet or they make little balls out of flowers that hang on a ribbon they can carry.
Reply:As I am a florist , I must first inform you that some wedding venues , do not allow petals to be thrown , so you will have to ask before hand.

If they do allow , you have a choice , real petals or fake ones ( which are very good )

As for flowers , you have a wide range to pick from , apart from baskets , you have hoops and other styles

If you want some ideas , send me your email address and I whould be pleased to send you some pictures
Reply:Have her carry a Kissing ball instead of a basket.... she will still get to carry flowers ... but not have to worry about dropping petals... also a nice idea for an outdoor wedding is to have her carry a FLORAL COVERED PARASOL.. very unique and chic
Reply:This is perfectly fine; a lot of people are doing this!

The little balls of flowers are cute too; they're called pomanders.
Reply:This is perfectly acceptable. Some places don't even allow dropping flower petals anymore for the very reasons you mentioned. You can have flowers cascading out of the basket (well glued or tied in place)make up
