Why did it have a flower ???????

i went to walmart one time and got 2 fish one was orange but........................................ a flower on his head not flower as in the plant but a flower shape thee other one was white with an orange square on her head they died i week after i got em why did it have i flower on its head in the tank at waslmart all his friends did not can i find another fish with a flower on its head how do i take care of it to change color and stuff and so it does not die in a week

This is why most fish die, not knowing how they live and the best tank to suit them.
