Wedding question about flower girl and candle lighter?
I really think it's up to you, but I would definitely look for younger girls dresses rather than actual brdesmaids dresses.

The dress you listed is much too old for an 11 year old. I would suggest more of a junior bridesmaid dress, which is kind of in between a bridesmaids dress and a flower girl dress.

Don't worry if anyone says she is too old, my flower girl was 10 and tall from her age. It's your day and it doesn't matter how old your flower girl is!!

I also think it's nice that you want to include the candle lighter as part of your ceremony, I think if you want her in the same dress, that would be nice!

Here are some links for junior bridesmaid dressed. Good luck!
Reply:Maybe you could have the flower girl in the same style as the bridesmaids with the shorter skirt and the candlelighter can just wear something else...

Doesn't a candlelighter only light a candle in the ceremony right? I would give her a whole different look... Make her standout :)
Reply:For the flower girl, I like when they wear a cute white dress, rather than matching the bridesmaids. And of course she isn't too old to be a flower girl - usually the problem is that people use flower girls too young, like 3 or 4.

For the candle lighter, can't help you. I wouldn't think it was a position which needed other than her own dress clothes.
Reply:That young lady is too old to be a flower girl; she is, however, just right to be a junior bridesmaid. I see nothing wrong with that dress you have chosen, especially if you give your attendants shawls or have the junior maid wear capsleeves.

I don't really understand your term "candle-lighter": are you referring to an acolyte? If so, then he or she should wear proper robes as the church dictates. If you mean some other practice, then I can't help you. The so-called Unity Candle has always eluded me.
Reply:I think the bridesmaids outfits look a touch mature for eleven. On the other hand, the average flower girl dress could be a bit babyish for them.

Would it be possible to find age-appropriate party dresses for them in a color that coordinates with the bridesmaids? Something knee-length or so that isn't too slinky and adult or too puffy and childish.
Reply:my daughter was a flower girl with the same type of dress as the bridesmaids it looked lovely and that way everyone is the same.
Reply:i would go white dress for the flower girl otherwise she will look like a bridesmaid and i have always seen the candles lit by ushers, moms, or already lit so i dont know on that one
Reply:The dress is nice, but does it make the girls look as though, it is to old for them. You really need to just have them to try it on and see what it looks like.genealogy mormon
