Is there really a flower called Bleeding Hearts?

A friend of mines once told me of a flower called bleeding heart but he told me that it's only a flower that writers use in fictional stores.

Even though i do think my friend is right about it being used in fictional stores, i don't think it's a fake flower.

Am i wrong? If i right about it being real, can someone also tell me what the flower really looks like and what is the meaning of this flower?
Is there really a flower called Bleeding Hearts?
Yes there is a flower called bleeding hearts. Go into HillNurseries .com and it will let you look at the flowers. They really are neat looking. Kinda a long skinny shaped bell that hangs and has lots of flowers on each stem.

Can't help you with the meaning
Reply:Yes, Bleeding Hearts is a real plant. Very pretty. The flower's shape is heart and somehow look like a drop of blood is hanging down from the flower. I Live in zone 6 and my bleeding heart is breaking ground already. Mine is red.I don't know the meaning of this flower.
Reply:Yes, there are bleeding heart flowers. They are so called because they are somewhat heart shaped and they have what looks like a drop of blood coming from the bottom.

I don't think the flower has "a meaning" it is just that way because that's the way God created it. There is a book called "Bleeding Hearts" by Josh Aterovi. Bleeding hearts are beautiful shade plants. There are all white ones and the red ones. After they bloom they die completely back. You can't ever tell where they were, but as soon as spring arrives they come right back up. They are great. In fact, I went out and looked and my are just peeping through the ground.
Reply:There is such a flower and here is a icture:

Reply:Yes, Dicentra spectabilis, also known as Venus's car or bleeding heart. It's a perennial, I have several of the pink variety in my garden. I've also seen white but they aren't as pretty.
Reply:Yes it is a real plant that likes shade or no direct sun. They come in white, pink and red. I have a white one that shows up nice in shade.affiliate
